Hepworth may seem like just a crossroads on your journey, but there are some great spots to explore as you pass through on our way to visit South Bruce Peninsula.
Hepworth honours the birthplace of John Wesley in Epworth, England. The “H” was added to the official spelling of Epworth to match the way the name was pronounced by William Spencer and other English Settlers. Feel free drop the H if you want to feel like a true local.
Be sure to stop at the South Bruce Peninsula Visitor Centre and pick up all the maps and brochures you’ll need to plan your South Bruce Peninsula vacation.
Book a site at Whispering Pines during the summer months and use that as your home base for day trips or relax in the on-site pool. Just north of Hepworth, you can play a round and grab a dozen wings at Northern Dunes. Stretch your legs at the Wilbur J. Cunningham Memorial Park, home to a community ball diamond and a playground for the kids.
During the winter season, stop for a ski or snowshoe at the Sawmill Nordic Centre. The OFSC District 9 snowmobile trails pass through Hepworth too with the local trails being maintained by the Stoney Keppel Riders.
As you plan your South Bruce Peninsula adventure, make Suntrail Source for Adventure in Hepworth your first stop. With everything from cross-country ski gear to paddling supplies, camping goods and adventure gear, you’ll find what you need here.
