The Bruce Trail: Where Nature’s Canvas Unfolds
Embark on a journey along the world-renowned Bruce Trail, a mesmerizing pathway that winds its way through the heart of South Bruce Peninsula. Canada’s oldest and longest footpath, hikers will enjoy sections of trail from Wiarton to Hope Bay. This section of the trail is managed by the Peninsula Bruce Trail Club and information on local hikes can be found on their website. The Rural Rocks sidetrail off Bruce Road 13 is a hidden gem with caves and crevices and some challenging terrain. Whether you’re looking at the turquoise waters from the top of the Niagara Escarpment in Purple Valley or hiking right along the shoreline by Spirit Rock, the Bruce Trail provides unforgettable experiences. 

Sauble Trails: Where Tranquility Meets Adventure 

The 2.5 kilometre Sauble Trail travels through a red pine plantation and takes you past ancient sand dunes. Pick up an interpretive leaflet at Sauble Falls Provincial park and learn more about current and historic forest management practices in the area. The trail is located in the east portion of the campground. 

Discover the Untamed Beauty of Oliphant Fen: Nature enthusiasts, rejoice! The Oliphant Fen beckons with its untouched wilderness and captivating biodiversity. Wander along  accessible, wooden boardwalks that were built to wind through the fen, giving you an up-close encounter with unique flora and fauna. The fen is a popular destination for bird watchers and photographers alike. Over 200 species of birds can be observed alongside orchids and carnivorous plants.

Sunsets and Stories at Petrel Point: This Great Lakes Coastal Meadow Marsh features a boardwalk with interpretive signage. Visitors can see orchids in bloom in the spring and fall and observe unique carnivorous plants like the horned bladderwort, sundew and pitcher plant. Rural Rootz Garden Nature Trails: A series of 7 loops set out from the Rural Rootz Gardens home base. The trails vary in length from 20 to 45 minutes and include four sections with crevice caves. Trails can only be accessed by visiting Rural Rootz during business hours. 

Hepworth Conservation Area: This scenic property has rolling forest and sand trails that are perfect for hiking during the warmer months. In the winter, this is home to the Sawmill Nordic Centre operated by the Bruce Ski Club. A map of the trails can be found here
