Published On: November 27, 2023

Welcome to the idyllic beaches of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. Nestled along the stunning shores of Lake Huron and Colboy’s Bay, our beaches hold the key to unforgettable memories and treasured traditions. For generations, families have made these shores their own, forging a deep connection that transcends time and creates lasting memories.

A Tapestry of Traditions:

1. Sauble Beach: Unveil the legacy of Sauble Beach, where families have basked in the golden sun for decades. This beach paradise offers 11 kilometers of pristine shoreline, inviting families to build sandcastles, swim in the crystal-clear waters, and stroll hand-in-hand along the sand. Sauble Beach has been a cherished tradition for families seeking relaxation and adventure for generations.

2. Bluewater Park in Wiarton: Experience the charm of Bluewater Park in Wiarton, a hidden gem treasured by locals and visitors alike. Families come here to enjoy picnics, beach games, and refreshing swims in the inviting waters. Capture stunning views of the nearby Niagara Escarpment and Spirit Rock from this vantage point. Enjoy the beach and the splash pad in a single visit.

3. Red Bay: Red Bay beckons families to explore its serene beauty and tranquil atmosphere. Boasting some of the best sunsets in Ontario, head to Red Bay’s beach for the day and stay until the sun drops below the horizon. With a public dock that extends out into the lake, adventurous beach goers can jump into Lake Huron from here.

4. Howdenvale: Discover the unspoiled allure of Howdenvale, a well-kept secret adored by families seeking seclusion and natural beauty. With excellent swimming, sailing, sunset viewing and stargazing, there’s a public dock for jumping here too.

5. Oliphant: Just north of Sauble Beach, Oliphant’s shallow waters are home to the Fishing Islands. These sheltered sandy bays allow for great kiteboarding in some spots and great family friendly swimming in others with shallow water for kilometres.

6. Hope Bay: Hope Bay beckons families to its scenic Georgian Bay shores, where a sense of wonder and adventure awaits. Hike along the rugged coastline, swim at the sandy beach and stick around to catch the sunset. Pack your hiking shoes and stop by the Hope Bay Forest Provincial Park
